Hunt Country Vineyards

The Hunt family has been farming west of Keuka Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes region for seven generations. They have made a determined effort to reduce their energy consumption by super-insulating all of the production, storage, and retail buildings, and installing efficient lighting throughout their facilities. In 2012, a large, eight-well geothermal heating/cooling system was installed alongside a 348-panel solar system installed two years later. By the end of 2015, they had reduced their carbon impact by 45%. The 24 acres of land that surround the winery and tasting room are certified organic and the soil uses compost and poultry manure only.
