Opportunities, Alternatives, and Resources (OAR) of Tompkins County assists and advocates for people who are or have been incarcerated in the Tompkins County Jail, and their families and friends. Their services include ensuring legal representation in the case of indigence, bailing eligible individuals pre-trial, working with the reentry education program College Initiative Upstate, and providing transitional sober housing at Endeavor House.

Southside Community Center

Since its incorporation in 1934, the Southside Community Center, Inc., continues to affirm, empower, and foster the development of self pride among the African-American citizens of greater Ithaca. Through forums and activities in education, recreation, political and social awareness, the Southside Community Center is a community resource center. They serve as a vehicle to develop an appreciation for the contributions and presence of those peoples of African descent in the greater Ithaca community and in the larger world community.

The Mary Durham Boutique

The Women's Opportunity Center is leading low income women to the pathway out of poverty by providing them individualized career counseling, training and removing barriers to become job ready and find employment. WOC assists in removing barriers to employment by providing scholarships, guidance, and referrals to other programs as needed. WOC is committed to pursuing the mission by working one-on one with clients, providing them with access to a comprehensive program of individualized career counseling and computer and skills training to become work ready. The Mary Durham Boutique is part of their Retail Training Program, designed to help women with limited work experience gain the skills necessary to find employment.
